Description

Please note that this page is for OPR appointments for Saturday, Dec. 9. Click here to make an appointment for Sunday, Dec. 10.

If your treasured family photographs were damaged by flooding during Hurricane Harvey, Operation Photo Rescue is here to help. OPR is a group of volunteer photographers, graphic designers and photo restorers who repair personal photographs that have been damaged by unforeseen circumstances. As OPR says, "Insurance doesn't restore memories . . . but we do!"

Preservation Houston is pleased to bring OPR to Houston for a two-day photo copy session Saturday and Sunday, December 9 and 10, 2017. During the sessions, digital copies will be made of damaged photographs and the original photos will be returned immediately to the owner. The digital images will be sent to volunteer restorers around the United States and the world who will repair, reprint and return the restored photographs at no cost to the owners.

Because of the incredible number of photos damaged during Hurricane Harvey and other recent disasters, OPR can accept a maximum of ten (10) photos per household. One appointment per household, please.

The OPR services are being offered free of charge. Appointments are required to submit photos for restoration and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. To make an appointment, please click the green "Register" button above, then check to see which time(s) have availability and register from there. Note that we will not be able to accommodate walk-ups during the copy sessions. Again, all participants must have an appointment.

If you have any questions about the OPR copy sessions, e-mail us or call (713) 510-3990.
